Top five reasons to choose White Grizzly

  1. Steep & Deep!
While a few other lodges may offer special Steep & Deep trips/weeks- this is the real thing. Guranteed DEEP Pow and 30-50 degree runs…all day every day! Really for experts only!
  2. 45 Ft.+ Annual Snowfall.
The owners are former ‘powder chasers’ who spent entire winters in search of the best Pow . It is no accident that they built their business at the location they coveted over all others.
  3. Only 12 Clients max.
Just you, 1 cozy lodge, 1 Snowcat and 11 other “buddies” to enjoy the DEEP Pow with.

Reclining seats plus Sushi (and other gourmet fare) served for lunch make your in-CAT experience unique and special.
  5. Almost 1:1 client/staff ratio.

Lodge / Accommodations

The White Grizzly Lodge is made of local logs, milled by a neighbouring millwright.

Much of the Lodge was hand-crafted by the owners, Carole and Brad, with the help of their family and friends. The Lodge is an intimate, quiet, and super comfortable 3200 square foot home-away-from-home. It is nestled in a secluded forest of larch, cedar and hemlock, and is accessible by vehicle year-round.

The Lodge can accommodate 12 guests, in five comfortable bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and extra long twin, double and queen sized beds.

It also has a hot tub, a massage room, a dry room fully equipped with dry racks and boot-dryers, and a central common area with plush reclining chairs, stretching mats, sound system, foosball table and a large stone fireplace.

Our meals are gourmet and fresh, and hearty enough to satisfy large appetites. We offer free wi-fi access at the Lodge, as well as a guest phone where you may receive incoming calls, or make calls with a calling card.

Equipment

White Grizzly has a selection of ‘fat’ powder skis including K2, Vokl, Salomon and other top/niche brands.

We now carry a selection of new Prior Overlord skis, which have an early rise tip. Or you can also try our Armada JJ, Salmon Czar or K2 Hellbent reverse camber skis for $35 per day.

Poles are provided along with rental skis. Guests must bring their own ski boots.

Guides

Safety is more than a commitment at White Grizzly; it is the ethic that drives our business. Safety is also important given the remoteness of our location and the advanced terrain we operate in.

We provide our guests with top-of-the-line avalanche safety equipment and hold practice sessions on how to use this equipment effectively in the event of an emergency.

Our highly experienced, certified guides meet on a daily basis to evaluate run selections given current conditions, group dynamics and other factors.

We maintain weather stations at the base and summit of our terrain to track trends in the snowpack and temperature.

Further back up is provided by continuous radio communication between the guides, cat and Lodge.

For your benefit, we maintain a ratio of three guides per group of 12 guests. One to lead your descent, and two tail guides to help you through any hurdles you may encounter.
